Dream of the Red Chamber: a performance for a sleeping audience

July 7, 2012

Dream of the Red Chamber: a performance for a sleeping audience invites you on a trip through your own dreams. Based on the 18th century Chinese epic novel by Cao Xuequin, this ingenious installation aims to bend the boundaries of durational performance, narrative, and consciousness with a series of parallel worlds—all contained inside your head. Come and doze as you please; there are no fixed ends or beginnings to the performance.

Jim Findlay’s Dream of the Red Chamber, is made possible through the support of the Nancy Quinn Fund, a program of A.R.T./NY, and the MAP Fund, a program of Creative Capital supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

“Sex, drugs, and… botany? Plants will never seem the same after Jim Findlay’s BOTANICA, an original, mesmerizing, and disturbing piece of experimental insanity.” — Flavorpill
